We live in Zermatt all year. The people who plan your trip are the same ones skiing beside you on it, who know where the snow stays quiet after a storm and the inn over the Italian border that does a lunch you'll talk about for months.

That's what a booking site can't give you: a guide who reads the day, changes the plan, and is good company from first run to last. We handle the rest: hotel, dinner tables, lift passes, a car-free village sorted without the headache.

How do I book?

The easiest way is our enquiry form on the website, or reach us directly by email at info@themountaincompany.ch or by WhatsApp and phone on +41 78 307 88 95. We will confirm availability and next steps within 24 hours or by the next working day.

How is a holiday booking confirmed?

After your free consultation you receive an itemised proposal. Your booking is confirmed with a deposit at the time of booking, with the full balance due 35 days before your holiday start date.

What is your cancellation policy?

For holidays, cancellations made 35 days or more before the start date are eligible for a full refund, excluding the planning fee. Some accommodation and services carry their own terms, which are always clearly stated on your proposal before you confirm. Guiding and lessons have their own cancellation terms, shared at the time of booking.

How can I pay?

You can pay by bank transfer, our preferred method, or directly through our WeTravel booking platform, including in your own currency. Card payments carry a small processing fee shown at checkout. We also offer a split-payment option for larger bookings.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can, especially for peak weeks such as Christmas, February, and the summer holidays, when availability is limited. That said, do get in touch even at short notice and we will always do our best to help.

Who are your guides, and what languages do they speak?

We are a small, handpicked team who live here, work here, and ski here every day, and we act as your personal hosts throughout your stay. Our guides bring over 20 years of skiing plus many years of teaching and guiding across the seasons, and between us we speak English, German, Italian, French, and Hungarian, so let us know your preferred language when you book.

Where are you based, and where do you operate?

We are based in Zermatt and operate exclusively here. This focus is what allows us to offer genuine local knowledge, the best accommodation, and a level of service that comes from truly knowing one mountain inside out.

How do I start planning a trip with you?

What does your holiday planning service include?

Everything, so you do not have to think about a thing. We take care of custom itineraries, luxury hotels and chalets, experiences, activities and dining, travel and transfers, private guiding, professional rental equipment, tickets and logistics, and local support throughout your stay. From the first idea to your final day on the mountain, it is all handled.

Is there a minimum trip length or spend?

No. We are open to everything and plan trips of all sizes. Whether you are after a long luxury holiday or something shorter and simpler, we tailor it entirely to you.

How does your pricing work?

We work with complete transparency and add no markup to accommodation, lift tickets, or anything else we arrange, so you see everything at the actual cost. We charge a planning fee that covers sourcing options and building your tailored itinerary, and you receive an itemised proposal after a free consultation.

Can the planning fee be reduced?

Yes. The planning fee can be reduced when you also book a ski guide with us for four or more consecutive days. It is the best way to make the most of our service, as your guide also acts as your concierge throughout your stay.
